Primal Young Steve Young
Price $ 13.99
After a seven-year absence from the studio, country-rock "outlaw" Steve Young (writer of Waylon
Jennings's "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean") has scored a spectacular return to form with this gorgeously
sung, intriguingly varied collection. Young moves from knockout to knockout here, nailing his primordial
mountain-music rant "East Virginia," the exclamatory protest "Worker's Song (A Handful of Earth)," and
even an unearthly, slow take of Lloyd Price's classic R&B tune, "Lawdy Miss Clawdy," before turning
down the flame for a heart-wrenching stroll through Merle Haggard's "Sometimes I Dream." He even gets
in a little honky-tonkin' on Tom T. Hall's "The Year Clayton Delaney Died." His own ballad, "No Longer
Will My Heart Be Truly Breaking," displays not only his voice--which has never sounded better--but also
the eclectic, blues-folk-country songwriting style that's made him impossible to categorize but nearly puts
him in a class by himself. --Robert Baird

Switchblades Of Love Steve Young
Price $ 14.22
It's a long way from "Seven Bridges Road"(a song written by Steve Young and an 80's hit for the Eagles)
and "Silverlake" one of the cuts on 'Switchblades of Love'. But Steve Young has traveled that long winding
road. Two other critically acclaimed albums by Steve Young, 'Renegade Picker' and 'No Place To Fall'
were forerunners of the progressive/alternative/rock/country movement emerging out of Nashville in the
70's.. 'Switchblades of Love' seems to move away from earlier "interpretations" of songs by Steve with
deeper, more moving, mellowed cuts such as "Love Song" and "My Love", Capturing the true soul and
visions of this totally captivating singer/songwriter. An "inner view" of a "mystical poet", and his music.
"Going Back To California" will make you want to go back..even though you've never been.

Double Exposure [Live]
Price $ 14.99
Cory Morrow is a shining example of the new breed of Texas singer songwriter. Not only blessed with
great songwriting ability he also has superior guitar skills as well as the perfect country voice. This CD is
offers all of the ebst that can hopd to be offered in a CD. First off it is live and live is definantly the best
way to experience any Texas musician. Second it offers both an acoustic and electric CD. So no matter
what mood yuor in you can pop in either one of the CD's and be instantly satisfied. Saying that I haven't
the skill with words to give this album credit. I will just say this, this is the best album produced since REK
"Live Number 2 Dinner". Enough said. Let's just hope Cory can keep fighting those "Nashville Blues."

Private Dancer Tina Turner
Price $ 11.97
This recording has been in some form since it was first released in 1984.
It rocks, you know? When Tina screams in "Better Be Good To Me", "Did you
think I'd just accept you in blind faith? Oh sure, Baby. ANYTHING TO PLEASE YOU!", you know how
she feels. And in "What's Love Got To Do With It", she says, "It's physical". And it was.
This is Tina in top form.

Simply The Best Tina Turner
Price $ 18.97
This retrospective spotlights Tina's four late-'80s Capitol releases, from Private
Dancer through the limp Foreign Material. The best stuff here remains the material from her Private
Dancer solo debut, though a duet with Rod Stewart on a Motown nugget is thrown in for good measure,
and Phil Spector supposedly remixed "River Deep, Mountain High" specifically for this release. --Bill

Twenty Four Seven Tina Turner
Price $ 13.99
R&B legend Turner signed on with producers Brian Rawling and Mark Taylor. Their contemporary production-touches seldom get in the way of
Turner's soulful smolder and burn, especially on tracks like the gospel-steeped opener, "Whatever You
Need," which stakes the team's intentions to bring the singer into the 21st century with her dignity intact.
Even on
more commercial and dance-oriented tracks (the single "When the Heartache Is Over"; the Bryan
Adams duet "Without You"), it's Turner who triumphs. But then, this is a woman who could breath sexual
fire into a toothpaste jingle. --Jerry McCulley
