This particular album could have been titled " Duets " as some of his most famous and sucessful duets
are included , from the superb opening track "Pancho and Lefty " the exceptional Townes Van Zandt
composition , accompanied by Merle Haggard ( there is also an album with this as the title track ) .
There are some tremendous performances ; the sublime " Seven Spanish Angels " with the
incomparable Ray Charles ; the romantic " To All The Girls I've Loved Before " with Spanish heart-throb
Julio Inglesias , or the foot tapping " They All Went To Mexico " with Carlos Santana . These , to me ,
are certainly the most well known , popular and sucessful although his duet with Frank Sinatra ( A Foggy
Day ) would not be out of place here .
" Honky Tonk Woman " is taken from his " One From The Road " album with Leon Russell and like this
song the album is distinctive , quirky but thoroughly enjoyable never the less .

tunes by modern Nashville songwriter Kimmie Rhodes, who matches breathy, elastic vocals with Willie

it receives the same refurbishing as the others. Instead of trying to out-sing the original, Nelson
illustrates how relaxed and effortless the song can become and still retain its captivating melody and
